MARY... Mother of Jesus
On the 8th of September, we celebrated the birthday of Mary. I was fortunate enough to be on break from work, after 2 weeks quarantine and 4 weeks as the pharmacist on duty, joy overwhelmed my heart at the celebration of the Mass of Our Lady's birthday.
The priest sang Marian songs and we danced and danced joyfully.
One may ask why is Mary so celebrated widely in the church, without prejudice to the Church's teaching, the scripture spells it all clearly: "All generations shall call me blessed."
Mary has no book in the Bible attributed to her, the volume of speech recorded in the Bible about her is so minute, but how come she is celebrated?
Well, she is favoured by God! That is enough to clear your doubt.
Mary demonstrated great love for the couple at the wedding at Cana where beckoned on her son to do something about the wine, she understood the shame it will bring to the young couple, there she was at the background doing a great work of providing wine and happiness to other.
Mary passed through lot of sufferings, beginning from the prophecy of Simeon, the flight to Egypt to escape Herod's wicked plans, and to crowned it all, receiving her Son's lifeless body on her bossom.
We never heard her cursing God or complaining bitterly, she bore everything patiently in her heart and pondering silently on the events that unfolded.
On people's birthday, we present them gifts, we also eat birthday cakes and receive presents from the celebrant.
Mary is truly rich in Graces, and we can implore on her to dispense them, we all need virtues of charity, humility, chastity, and so on. Whatever virtue you need, ask her and she will gladly grant you and aid you to live it out fully.
Keep celebrating Mary, she accepted willingly to become the mother of our saviour, she could have said NO, but she said YES! And that was our victory .
Together we will join her to smash the head of the serpent and propagate the kingdom of God.
Are you proud to be her child?
As for me and my household she remains our Mother and we, her children.
Ave.....Maria!
