Have you ever wondered why people try to persuade others to make money? I mean everyone wants to make profits in life and we all know that what is good does not need much persuasion. So why is there so much platforms calling on others to make money? If a scheme will fetch you a wonderful profit why is there always a need to recruit others to join you. The various woes we experience in our society today is based on leaders who lead with no conscience or better put the heart for humanity. Changing the narrative of a failing country is not rocket science as many have painted it to be. Most good intentions can be forestalled by the so called "way of doing things". The culture of our way of doing things has created an atmosphere for abnormalities hence making the normal abnormal. Sorry if I am confusing you. I believe you will understand what I mean. The fatalistic thinking of people which have been strengthened by culture and false religion has led to lot of aberrations in our society. We tend to seek God in the high heavens while we trample on our fellow Humans who are seemingly blocking us from finding God. We see work as a distraction from finding this God. Sometime last year, I paid a visit to an elderly man whose son came to the pharmacy to get him some medications. I could understand what this man would be passing through, so I decided to go see him. When I arrived at the place he directed me to, I gave him a call in order to confirm the house. When I got in, I saw the man sitting; saliva was drooling from his mouth, he also urinated there and the son went ahead to clean it up. I asked to see his medications and the bag of drugs was brought. I found out he had not been taking his medications and had also resorted to herbal drinks which were bought at exorbitant prices by the woman he lived with. The good thing was that the daughter was an undergraduate student of Food and Nutrition, so we flowed together in the dietary management of her dad; of which he was doing excellently well. It will be true to say that everyone has 24 hours a day: whether you are a man or woman ; undergraduate or graduate; rich or poor; one of the popular sayings is ‘TIME is MONEY’; though the issue of the ways student spend their time especially in the 21 st century is   very pathetic. Back in the days of our fore fathers, they never imagine what a phone is like; nowadays the issue of social media has possibly caused more harm than good to our undergraduates; one of the silent time killers was 2go. To worsen it all, 2go set up stages whereby a student who is in the stage called Novice will love to progress till he becomes an Ultimate (black star), you can imagine a student who has ten (10) courses in a semester and can’t   spend up to 30 minutes in one topic   of the course outline. How time flies, the good news is that you are the pilot. I wrote this three years ago on my Facebook page and decided to post it on my blog. "I picked out my Pharmacist's oath to ponder on its contents, just like the 10 commandments, there was 10 "I shall" in the oath." The second 'I shall' is very delicate and demanding and it quotes: "I shall apply the full measure of my knowledge,  skills and abilities to improving the health and well being of all those I serve and place their needs above my personal interest and considerations" You may understand better if you do night calls,  after  and vigorous day duty and your body calls  for rest, when the patient comes knocking your sleep should give way for immediate attention to the patient. Today,3rd November, 2017 will be one year since I took the oath before many witnesses  and I thank God for the journey so far...
